We’ve all been there—trying to choose between the food you know you should be eating, and the food you’re craving.
It’s a classic dilemma. In fact, we field questions all the time from Thrivers who are trying to get healthy, but don’t want to give up the flavors they love. We asked our resident nutritionist and health expert Elissa Goodman to tell us how she satisfies her taste buds while making her health a top priority.
I want to eat food that is good for my body, but I don’t want to give up on flavor. What are your favorite healthy and tasty snacks?
Being a “flexitarian” allows me to never feel deprived, but I’ve come to love whole, nutrient-rich foods. After living this lifestyle for more than 20 years, those foods just taste better to me!
I love to have really good quality raw chocolate. Theo Organic Salted Almond Dark Chocolate Bar is great!
I’m a big cheese and cracker girl. Herb-flavored Mary’s Gone Cracker’s with a spread of cashew cheese is a favorite of mine.
I often make a homemade trail mix and always have some around for snacking. I like to add brazil nuts, almonds, cashews, goji berries, mulberries, and pumpkin seeds!
A lot of my clients miss things like buttery popcorn. I tell them to make it at home with organic popcorn and real grass-fed butter—just stick with organic ingredients, like any of these delicious popcorn options.
You can enjoy all of these snacks with zero guilt!
